RICHLANDS, FL – A woman has been using a senior citizen’s debit card and bank account without her knowledge, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday. On November 2, 2020, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report from the Heritage Senior Living Home in Richlands that fraudulent activity appeared on one of their resident’s bank account.
An investigation revealed that the victim lost his wallet and later found fraudulent charges on his bank statement. Detectives learned that a former employee, Misty Dawn Holt took the victim’s debit card and charged in excess of $35,000 on the card.
Holt, 30-years-old, of Masters Court in New Bern, was arrested December 30, 2020, taken before a magistrate and charged with: Felony Identity Theft, (35) Counts Felony Obtain Property by False Pretense, Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods, She is currently in Onslow county Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
