SPRINGVILLE, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 53-year-old Shawn R. Connors of Springville was arraigned this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns on an indictment charging him with one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class “D” felony) and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class “A” misdemeanor).
It is alleged that on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at approximately 6:49 a.m., the defendant punched the victim in the face multiple times outside of Springville Middle School, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The victim, who is a teacher, suffered injuries to his face and knees. A juvenile allegedly witnessed the assault.
Connors is scheduled to return on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial conference. He remains released on his own recognizance.
If convicted of the charges, Connors faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
