Joe Biden caught in another big lie and this time CNN couldn’t defend him

It’s hard to tell these days whether or not anything U.S. President Joe Biden says is the truth. That’s because when he lies or does something wrong, the media, lead by CNN run cover for him. This time, however, CNN wasn’t able to cover up a lie told by Biden.

On Thursday, the President, while addressing America’s Jewish population about the “scourge of anti-Semitism”, President Biden said he visited the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after the 2018 mass shooting that killed 11 people and wounded six others.

“I used to think that hate could be defeated, it could be wiped out. But I learned a long time ago, it can’t. It only hides. It hides. It hides under the rocks. And given any oxygen at all, it comes out. It’s a minority view, but it comes out, and it comes out raging. And it’s been given too much oxygen in the last four, five, seven, 10 years,” Biden said. “And it’s been given too much oxygen in the last 4, 5, 7, 10 years, and it has seen itself, whether it was — I remember spending time at the — you know, going to the — you know, the Tree of Life Synagogue, speaking with the — just — it just is amazing these things are happening — happening in America.”

It turns out, Biden never visited the synagogue and this time, CNN had no way to cover for Biden’s latest lie.

“Biden spoke to Tree of Life rabbi, but his claim about visiting the synagogue is false,” CNN reported.

Now, the President is being called out for using the tragedy as a political football. Last week, while meeting with parents of Marines killed in Afghanistan, Biden spent most of the time talking about himself and his deceased son Beau.

“Biden’s claim about “spending time at” and “going to” Tree of Life is false; he did not go to the synagogue. Biden did, however, speak by phone to Tree of Life Rabbi Jeffrey Myers in 2019. A White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity said Friday that this call is what Biden was referring to in his Thursday comments — in which, after inaccurately recalling “spending time at” and “going to” the synagogue, he also mentioned “speaking with” someone,” CNN reported.

That phone call was many months after the attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue.

“President Biden kindly called me on my cell phone as I was sitting in Dulles Airport awaiting a return flight to Pittsburgh after I testified before Congress in July 2019. In a heartfelt way, he extended his condolences and asked how we were doing,” Myers told CNN. “We spoke about the challenges of antisemitism, and he made clear he would confront it with us as president. The conversation meant a great deal to me, and I will always be grateful for his kind words and continued support of our community.”

It’s unsure why Biden lied about the event. It could also be that his deteriorating cognitive condition is now affecting his waning memory.

President Donald Trump visited the synagogue shortly after the attack.
