Arkansas murder suspect captured in Martin County

STUART, FL – A man who was stopped in his vehicle for not having proper lighting on his bike ended up being a murderer on the run from Arkansas justice.

On Saturday, at 3:00 a.m., deputies arrested 43-year old Latarris Robinson of Stuart.

“Martin County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped Robinson for not having proper lighting on his bike, but that was just the beginning of the bad news for Robinson,” the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said. “While speaking to deputies, he didn’t see the baggie containing crack cocaine hanging out of his pocket. But our deputies did. When deputies tried to handcuff Robinson, he took off on foot.”

After a brief foot chase, Robinson was captured. When deputies searched the fanny pack he was wearing, they found a stolen loaded gun, 21-crack cocaine rocks and ‘molly’.

“But the real find took place when deputies discovered Robinson is wanted in Arkansas for murder, theft and fleeing and eluding. Which is likely why he gave deputies a false name,” they said.

Latarris Robinson was charged with grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, sale and delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of MDMA, giving false ID to law enforcement and obstruction without violence. He is being held at the Martin County Jail without bond—and will be extradited back to Arkansas to face his charges there.
