MERCED, CA – On February 6, 2021, at approximately 3:30pm Deputies with the Merced County Sheriff’s STAR Team were patrolling the area of Westside Avenue and Robin Avenue in Livingston after receiving complaints of a suspicious vehicle parked in the area.
Once Deputies located the vehicle, they recognized one of the passengers as Merced County Jail escapee, 19-year-old Gabriel Francis Coronado.
Coronado was taken into custody. Coronado is currently in custody for attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, participation in a criminal street gang, felon in possession of a firearm, violation of probation.
Two of the escapees are still wanted by the Merced County Sheriff’s Office and A TIP LINE has been set up by the US Marshals Service and a reward of up to $10,000.00 per escapee is being offered for any information leading to the apprehension of these subjects.

BARRON, JORGE; 20-years-old, Hispanic Male Adult, 5’05” 140lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, from Atwater, Ca– Current Charges – violation of probation
LEON, MANUEL ALLEN; 21-years-old, Hispanic Male Adult, 5’10” 165lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, from Vallejo, California –
Current Charges – assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, evade peace officer – reckless driving, participation in a criminal street gang, carrying a loaded firearm
