BEAUMONT, CA – Below is a list of incidents responded to by the Beaumont Police Department this past weekend.
On January 29, 2021, at approximately 12:19 a.m., Beaumont dispatch received a call reporting the sounds of gunshots around 5th Street and Michigan Avenue. Officers arrived in the area and located approximately 10 shell casings in the intersection. A neighbor was contacted and reported after hearing the shots, an unknown vehicle and subject on foot were seen leaving the area near where the gunshots came from. Officers were unable to locate a suspect or any victims. This case is still under investigation.
On January 30, 2021, at approximately 11:09 p.m., officers responded to a commercial burglary in progress at a business in the 700 block of Beaumont Avenue. An employee at the business reported surveillance cameras picked up an unidentified female standing inside the business. Officers arrived at the location and found the front glass to the business had been smashed and a 38-year-old female standing inside. The female was arrested and booked at Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
On January 31, 2021, a witness contacted the Beaumont Police Department to report seeing a male pull a handgun on a female during an argument. The witness reported the male had left the area in a black Chevy SUV. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and subject matching the witness’s description. Officers conducted a felony traffic stop and detained the driver, a 34-year-old resident of Beaumont. During a search of the subject’s vehicle, a replica Glock pistol, several glass pipes, and syringes were located. The male was arrested for the paraphernalia and his vehicle was towed. Officers were unable to locate the possible victim. This case is still under investigation.
