Las Vegas man stopped by police for DWI in Wildwood had loaded hangun

WILDWOOD, NJ -On Sunday, December 6, 2020, at approximately 02:39 AM, the Wildwood Police Department Uniformed Patrol Division conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 100 block of East Maple Avenue after observing the driver commit multiple infractions. During the course of the stop, the driver, Thomas Miller, a 26-year-old unemployed male from Las Vegas, Nevada, was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated and was subsequently arrested.

During a search incident to arrest, Miller was found to be in possession of a .380 caliber handgun loaded with hollow-point ammunition. An additional magazine loaded with hollow-point ammunition was located in the center console of the vehicle.

As a result of this investigation, Miller was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, and Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition. Miller additionally received summonses for Driving While Intoxicated and other motor vehicle law infractions. He was ultimately lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in accordance with New Jersey Criminal Justice Reform guidelines.
