Drug dealer charged for New Brunswick woman’s overdose death

SOMERVILLE, N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Somerset County Chief of Detectives John W. Fodor, and Bedminster Township Chief of Police Karl Rock announced the indictment of Lashawn D. Boyd, age 25, Harvey Street, New Brunswick, New Jersey for causing the drug overdose death of a 37-year-old Bedminster woman in January 2020. Prosecutor Robertson stated defendant Boyd was indicted for 1st-degree Strict Liability for Drug-Induced Death, and four counts of 3rd-degree Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
