LOS ANGELES, CA – Police are calling it a COVID-19 super spreader event and 167 have been charged after police raided an underground party in the city Saturday night.
“The #LASD Super-Spreader Taskforce continues to enforce the Los Angeles County health orders to address underground party events. On Saturday, January 16, 2021, the task force was made aware of the following location, 600 Block of Manchester Ave., Los Angeles,” LA County Sheriff’s Department said. “Approximately 167 adults were cited, 50 were warned and advised and there were no juveniles were in attendance. Sheriff Alex Villanueva has made it clear he will seek out & take law enforcement action against ALL underground party events occurring anywhere within Los Angeles County, who fall under the Health Orders of the County’s Department of Public Health. The goal of these enforcement actions is to reduce the spread of #COVID19 and the risk to our vulnerable populations. We thank the Board of Supervisors for their commitment to resource COVID-19 enforcement action.”
